Summer house and garden make-over that transformed this space from what was earlier a rarely used area to a centre of an outdoor life. The owners of the property were greatly surprised about the hugely positive effect it had on the way they use their garden now.
With a large roof overhang allowing them to put out table and chairs and amazing large glass doors, they love this space and use it as a games room, guest house and hide-away area.
We have added a fire pit in the middle of the garden, re-built a front decking and laid new grass. Overall the entire project took 5 weeks, and the result is outstanding.
“Lovely people, very high standard of work, excellent quality.”

After a short while we have installed a green sedum roof. Not only it made this building even more amazing, but increased the green space in the garden. It also give the owners a much nicer view from their bedroom.
Below you can see a selection of pictures we took few weeks after we completed this beautiful structure.
The need to create an outside working space in a small, courtyard like garden, was at the heart of this unique design.
Creating a great, outside working studio, where the owner could work throughout the year without worrying about the weather was the most important criteria.
One of the challenges of this project was to design it in a way that it does not overwhelm the garden. This was successfully achieved by precise design and build, which allows the owner to use their garden even more, with a greater pleasure.
Also, having a place to work so close to home, but not at home, is one of the best things for this great hair stylist.
Lukas, Ivana, and all the team have delivered and created exactly what I was looking for! My experience with them was professional and I am so happy with my new work space! I would definitely recommend them! Thank you A Room in the garden!.

We were asked to create a contemporary garden gym which could be used all year around by a family of four.
The main challenge was to create a space large enough to contain the gym, an area to relax and entertain friends, along with a storage space for the children’s toys without exceeding the client’s budget.
A split height design, which allows the clients a large, even space to use the gym equipment safely, and the use of two different kind of wood for the cladding, give a much more dynamic and individual look to this contemporary garden building.
The storage room has its own entrance. To keep the continuity of the clean lines and to enhance the sense of space, the door is cladded to match the outer walls.
We had to overcome a steep incline, but we were able to create strong foundations and a decking surround using the piling system; perfectly designed to manage these complicated conditions.
From start to finish, Lukas & his team have been absolutely superb. Their attention to detail, right from the initial planning stages to delivering the final finished product, has been second to none.
They have such a great personal touch and they always had a smile on their faces – even when facing several inches of snow! I cannot recommend them highly enough.

A luxurious garden gym designed to complement the estate and match its character.
The 3m high ceiling makes the room airy and spacious, making exercising more pleasurable.
The 2.5 m, bi-folding windows stretch across almost whole of the front of the building, allowing plenty of light so the owners can fully enjoy the beautiful view while exercising. The windows can be fully opened to let the air circulate on a hot summer’s day, while underfloor heating keeps the room nice and warm during the winter.
Some clients don’t leave reviews. But when they order 4 projects in a row, we think we’ve done something right.
Later on we have been asked to build additional decking platform in front of the gym and a path that follows the same curve as the main house.
Small but perfect for an additional guestroom, this garden building has been built from very well insulated SIP panels, making it brilliant for all-year-round use.
With additional decorative features, external lights and double-glazed doors and windows, it complements this little garden.
To keep the guests worm even in the middle of the winter (and heating costs low) the SIP panels used on the walls are 150mm and in the roof 175mm. Almost a passive house.
Very happy with our new garden room.

A bespoke storage room designed to fit in the south-east corner of the garden. The roof has a delicate slope, which has been designed to maximise the amount of sun on a grass pitch.
Inside there is storage room for 3 bicycles, bins, garden tools, a barbeque and wood logs. A number of fitted shelves allow owners to store additional items.
Stained glass windows make the content invisible from the outside and create amazing light in the evening.
The entire construction is fully insulated, keeping the room free from mould and humidity. The green, living roof also prevents overheating during the summer.
And here is how it all started! Our first garden room! Our very own garden room! A whole new building based on our needs and our loves. We were so pleased we the result, not to mention how much fun we had designing and building it, that we decided to abandon our careers of over 20 years to start a completely new adventure. A Room in the garden was born!
