This project completely transformed the unused space at the back of our clients’ garden. This area mainly served as a storage space for pool equipment and was only used during the summer period. Today, it is a spacious Garden room which features a beautiful custom bar, a bathroom and a sound proof storage room which houses the water pump for the pool. The overall size of the building is nearly 30sqm which offers plenty of space that can be used all year round.

Project details: Three years ago our clients added a pool in their garden and were now looking for a soundproofing solution for the water pump. Their idea evolved further and turned into A Room In The Garden project for a functional space with a bathroom, a bar area and a spacious open plan lounge. Today, the garden room functions as an office, a yoga studio, a guest house and is also often used for entertaining family and friends. We are very proud to have helped turn the unused space at the end of the garden into a multifunctional building which can be enjoyed by the entire family.

Exterior: We used large bi-folding doors with integrated blinds to create a link between the interior and the pool area. We also added a separate storage space. The exterior cladding is mainly done in our standard Redwood but we also added two decorative slate inset panels which correspond to the roof trim and the overall appearance of the building.

Interior: The interior of the garden room is plastered and painted white. The flooring is done in a grey oak finish and features underfloor heating. We collaborated with the client to design the bar area and the banquette booth seating space. One of the main jumping off points for the inspiration was the La Piscine poster which is seen hanging on the wall inside the space today.
