PROJECT DETAILS
The brief: The clients got in touch with us to create an unconventional and eye-catching design for a unique artist studio in their beach front garden. The brief was to design a small, functional space that could withstand harsh seaside conditions while offering an inspiring environment for artistic work.
Interior: Though compact, the studio is cleverly designed to fit all essentials comfortably. Its irregular shape maximises usable space and encourages creativity. Doors and windows are fitted with integrated blinds, and the entire construction is fully insulated, keeping the studio cool even during heatwaves. Every detail is tailored to provide a comfortable, practical, and inspiring workspace.
Exterior: The exterior presented the biggest challenge. Situated right on the beach, the building had to withstand storms and constant exposure to saltwater. Cement particle boards were chosen for the exterior finish as they provide long-term durability in harsh seaside conditions. The distinctive design gives the studio a striking, contemporary appearance that contrasts with, yet complements, its natural surroundings.
The result: The final result is highly functional, and completely unique. The studio is now a cherished creative space, resilient against the elements while offering inspiration and practicality in equal measure.
