HOW WE WORK
Each of our clients is an individual with different dreams, ideas and circumstances. Therefore, we provide bespoke service and design to perfectly match their unique personality.
When you engage us to create your project, we will cover all aspects of designing and building it, from the initial idea and advice, to the groundwork and material sourcing, to the electrical and internet connections.
The first step to your new garden building is to book our Site Survey. During this initial meeting, we will learn about you, your garden and what is it you are looking for. We then discuss your ideas, give you some advice and try to understand your taste and expectations.
After the Site Survey is completed, we start designing your building. When the design is ready, usually within 7 working days, we will prepare a detailed proposal for you. This will include the floor plan, a 3D visualisation of your building and an initial, itemised quotation.
Our price always includes everything that needs to be done for you to start using your building. There are no hidden costs and surprises at the end of the process, and the price is fixed.
Each of our garden rooms is built to an exact customer specification, so it is important that you are happy with the design. As we are preparing CAD drawings, we will involve you in the process until you are perfectly happy with the result.
When we know the position of the last electrical socket, we will discuss payment options.
PAYMENTS AND FINANCE
When you are happy with the design and are ready to appoint us to build your new garden room, we will talk about how you would like to pay for your new investment.
Currently we can offer you up to £25,000 of finance with as little as £0 deposit. This means your building can cost up to £49,000 as long as you are happy to pay £24,000 deposit. You will receive an example of a finance option in our proposal, so it will be easier for you to make a decision.
A Room in the Garden Ltd is an Appointed Representative of Improveasy Ltd. The firm is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 708623). It is authorised as a Broker, not a Lender, and offers credit facilities from a panel of lenders. The credit is subject to application and status.
PLANNING APLICATION AND BUILDING REGULATION
Although almost all garden buildings require no planning application, those bigger than 30sqm will need building control involvement. If in your case you do need to deal with any of the above, we will manage the entire process for you.
Most of the buildings we build do not require any of them, as our garden rooms are usually built within the sizes and specifications regulated by Permitted Development Act.
When all details are finalised, we will send you an invoice with a request for your deposit. At this point we start ordering materials for your garden room and start preparing your building structure off-site.
After 4 to 6 weeks from receiving your deposit, we will arrive at your garden to start the installation and building process. You will know exactly when we will be arriving. This is usually a very exciting moment for all our clients as they watch their new garden building growing in front of them in a matter of few days.
It usually takes 2 weeks for the building to be completed, and you can use it straight after we leave your garden. On the last day, you will be given keys and we will explain all the important details. At the same time, we will ask you to make a final payment for the project.
For those customers who pay outright for their bespoke garden buildings, we ask for 50% of deposit when we receive their order, 25% when we start installation in their garden, and the final 25% on completion.
For finance customers, we ask for their deposit straight after they have been approved for finance. On completion we ask them to sign the installation report, which allows us to receive the rest of the money from the finance provider. Their monthly instalments will start around a month after completion.
You will hear from us after your building is completed. From time to time we will ask if everything is OK, and once a year we will offer you a seasonal inspection to make sure that all works as it should. If you would like us to maintain your building for you, we are able to do so as well. Of course, you can contact us whenever you want; we will always be happy to hear from you.
