PROJECT DETAILS

The brief: This spacious garden building was created for a client who wanted her father to live nearby while maintaining his independence. The chosen plot was tricky and previously overlooked, but by carefully raising the structure, we were able to capture natural light throughout the day. A large deck with a sheltered pergola creates a peaceful spot for relaxing outdoors, connecting the new home to the garden.

Interior: Inside, the building was kept bright and neutral, providing a fresh canvas for the client’s own style. The kitchen features sleek, handleless J-groove cabinets for a clean, modern look, with chrome fittings throughout both the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom was finished with large, off-white non-slip tiles, while the rest of the space has light grey oak laminate flooring for a calm and contemporary feel. Underfloor heating was added throughout the space to make sure it is comfortable to use year round.

Exterior: The exterior design complements the garden beautifully. The front and side elevations are clad in vertical treated Redwood, matching the natural timber decking and the pergola beams outside the bedroom door. Large sliding doors connect the living space with the deck, and all windows and doors were chosen in a contrasting anthracite finish, adding a sharp, modern edge.

The result: The finished mobile home provides a generous, light-filled living space with a full kitchen, accessible shower room, and an extra-wide doorway leading to a private bedroom. It’s a comfortable and stylish home, thoughtfully designed to bring a much-loved family member closer while giving them a space of their own.
